Setting up your email with Google Apps

G Suite (previously known as Google Apps) offers businesses the opportunity to purchase mailboxes at $50 per mailbox per year (or $5 per user per month). This includes 24/7 support, 25GB inboxes and a 99.9% uptime guarantee.

  • If you don't want to use Gmail's web interface, you can configure the settings so email downloads to your email client on your computer (see information in the FAQs below).
  • If you prefer to use Yola's email service, Yola Mail, please click on this link for more information. Please note: Yola Mail is not available to partner programs.
  • For more information on setting up your email through G Suite, check out How do I verify my G Suite domain?

Once you have created an account and verified ownership, the setup wizard will walk you through the DNS updates you will need to make. Verifying your domain means that you need to paste a code that Google provides into a box in the Advanced DNS Settings for your domain on your Yola account.

To sign up for a free 30-day trial of G Suite:

  1. Go to https://gsuite.google.com/.
  2. Click Get Started.
  3. Fill in the signup form.
  4. Select Use a domain name I have already purchased. Click Next.
  5. Enter the domain name.
  6. Create your username and password and fill in the other options.
  7. Click Accept and sign up.

Your G Suite account gives you access to (among other applications): Gmail, Drive and Docs and Google Calendar.  Next, you need to verify ownership of your domain.  Please be sure to follow our instructions not Google's.

  1. Click Start located next to "Add people to your G Suite account".
  2. Complete user accounts for your team as needed, then tick the checkbox next to "I added all user email addresses currently using @yourdomain.com. Click Next.
  3. The setup wizard will send emails to your team informing them of the mailbox setup. Complete the recipient mailbox email addresses to be notified as needed. Then click Send Emails.
  4. To verify your domain and email setupclick Choose a different method.
  5. Select Add a domain host record (TXT or CNAME).  You will see "Log in to your domain host's website. Looks like your domain is hosted with Cloud Flare. Open the Cloud Flare website in a new tab and log in." Please ignore this. Instead, in a new tab or window, please login to your Yola account. Once logged in, then you can tick the box next to "I have successfully logged in."
  6. On the My Yola Dashboard, click Domains. Click Advanced settings next to your domain and click Set up email for your domain. Click Gmail (Google Apps). Once done, go back to G Suite and tick the box next to "I have opened the control panel for my domain".
  7. Now, it's time to add the TXT record. Copy the TXT record provided. Here is an example of what the TXT record looks like: google-site-verification=HVghkaHooXB-Qc24999Jo7PlvKinYSsqk4LTaWXS67U. Go back to the Gmail (Google Apps) section and paste the TXT record into the area provided and click Submit. We will automatically add a number of MX records to your DNS settings. If you have any existing MX records, they will be overwritten.
  8. Return to your G Suite account and tick the box next to "I added the TXT verification record".
  9. As Yola has already done the next 4 steps for you, you can simply tick the boxes for:
    • I saved the TXT verification record.
    • I have opened the control panel for my domain.
    • I created the new MX records.
    • I saved the MX records.
  10. Click the VERIFY DOMAIN AND SET UP EMAIL. Once the domain verification process has been completed, you'll see this message: Domain verification and email setup complete!  Click Next.
  11. You'll see a dialog box saying "You're almost done" along with a success message that you've switched your email to G Suite. Click Continue.
  12. You'll be taken through the Billing process and setting up the rest of your G Suite account.
